Trained in Hungarian youth teams, Dominik Szoboszlai's career is progressing at breakneck speed. After joining the Red Bull factory, he had spells at Liefering, Salzburg and Leipzig before landing at Anfield for a fee of 70 million euros. Just days away from his 23rd birthday, he has become an undisputed player for Jürgen Klopp, who this summer has remodelled the structure that years ago made him Champions League and Premier League champion. Alongside the Hungarian, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo have joined Liverpool to replace the departures of players such as Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, Oxlade Chamberlain and James Milner. Earlier, Mané, another of Liverpool's great architects of the winning side, had gone off.

Of all the new arrivals, Szoboszlai has been the one who has surprised the most with his performance. And he is doing so out of the position it seemed he would occupy after his signing was finalised. Without Mané and Firmino, with Salah as the mainstay of the Red Devils' attack and with Darwin Núñez on the rise, everything pointed to the Hungarian playing in the third place in Klopp's trident. However, since the start of the season, the German coach has been using the Hungarian in positions further back and his impact on the team has been increasing.

"He looked like a last line player, with four very characteristic virtues: ball striking, driving, high pressing... but little else. The full Szoboslai combo we are seeing now at Liverpool. When he signed, I thought he was going to play in the attacking trio (...) Klopp is able to see more from some players. He's recycling him and now he's even appearing at the base of the play. I don't know what his ceiling is, but he's a better player than when he arrived at Anfield".- Pakillo Mariscal, on Play Football, on

Szoboszlai Is shining

In addition to the role of Dominik Szoboszlai, Bruno Alemany and Pakillo Mariscal also analysed the evolution of Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino and the impact of Moisés Caicedo on the Blue's midfield.
