‘Mo’ Salah came clean about his feelings and his hopes for the future.

Mohamed Salah called for Real Madrid when Liverpool qualified for the Champions League final, but his wish did not end as he would have liked. The Egyptian star lost for the second time to Los Blancos in a match for the top continental title and weeks later he still feels the blow.

Luis Diaz was Barcelona’s target, how Liverpool won his signature from other suitors

"We deserved to win, we had more chances. I had two or three clear chances but Courtois made incredible saves. It's his job, that's why Madrid signed him. It was his night," said Salah in an interview with France Football.

Salah did, however, appreciate the mentality in his team. "At Liverpool we all run for each other. If I don't fight for the defenders, they won't fight for me. I have to be an example, the first to push and sacrifice for the team," explained the Egyptian, who did not hide that the Ballon d'Or is his ultimate goal as a footballer.

"I want to win it to join George Weah [the only African to win it]. For this year's, the defeat against Madrid is a disadvantage, even though I played a good game in the final. That doesn't take away everything I've achieved in the last few months, we have to wait for the jury's vote," he explained. "If I'm not the Ballon d'Or in 2022, I'll do everything I can to be the next one.”

Salah does not plan to keep his head down

To achieve this, and other goals, Salah is clear that it is very important to always be prepared to give the maximum effort: "I am constantly on a quest to improve my physical condition. I try to meditate every day for ten to twenty minutes at home. Two rooms in our house are dedicated to fitness machines, bodybuilding, I have a hyperbaric chamber," explains the player. "My wife says I spend more time with the machines than with her. When you work so hard to have a perfect body, you cannot to be coy."
