Uruguayan striker continues to train even without a ball at his feet

Throughout October and into the last fortnight of November, Uruguay international striker Darwin Núñez has finally begun to show his true value and potential as a Liverpool goal-breaker with his goal-scoring prowess on the increase, reflected in the hard work the player has put in on and off the training ground.

Although many could put the work done in training as the main factor for which today Núñez can contribute goals or assists to the team, the reality is that behind this process of adaptation is the factor that he least mastered on his arrival in England which is the language, progressing the striker in his understanding of English in order to grasp and execute to perfection those orders of Jürgen Klopp.

A few weeks ago the Reds striker himself had pointed out the language limitation as one of the factors that prevented him from developing fully on the pitch with his teammates, with the club and the player himself emphasising this disadvantage in order to eradicate it as soon as possible, combining study with his adaptation to give as a result those numbers that today are comparable with several of the best footballers in England.

Although there are still some details that Núñez must continue to polish once the Premier League activity returns by the end of December, the South American player has also begun to understand the footballing language that his teammates express on the pitch, synchronising with players such as Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Harvey Elliott, making the Reds' attacking sector a more integrated one.

The brace of goals that largely clinched the win against Southampton will serve as a motivator ahead of the World Cup in Qatar, with the player himself hoping throughout his participation to continue his goalscoring streak and return to Merseyside at the end of December with better football to boost his goal-scoring stats and get even closer to the numbers managed by his competition, Erling Haaland.
