This summer has been marked, globally, by the Saudi Pro League's irruption into the European transfer market, as the economically powerful Arab league has attracted world-class players to its league on the basis of stratospheric salaries that no other club can offer. That is how they have convinced big-name players to leave European football and venture to the Middle East, and in recent days they have tried to do the same with Mohamed Salah.

Salah, 31, has won absolutely everything with Liverpool and is a living and active legend at the Premier League's biggest club, so the Saudi Pro League would be very keen to bring him to one of its teams, as Salah is not only one of the best players in the world, but also a highly respected and idolized figure in Arab culture.

A few days ago it was made public the alleged offer that Al-Ittihad, the same club that signed Fabinho this summer for £40 million, would have made to Mo Salah to join them this summer, which would have been €180 million for a two-year contract, ie 90 million per season. In addition, they also offered Liverpool's board €60 million for his signature, which was immediately rejected by the Reds.

Furthermore, it has been said that Mohamed Salah has no intention of leaving Liverpool this summer, but various sources claim that the Pharaoh could consider a move away from Anfield to the Saudi Pro League as soon as next year when he has just one more year left on his Liverpool contract. No doubt his departure would be very painful for the team, so much so that even Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler, who currently manages in Saudi Arabia's second tier has said that he would not like to see Salah join the Saudi league.

What Fowler will do to stop Salah leaving Liverpool

In an interview with talkSPORT's ben Jacobs, Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler said he would not like to see Mohamed Salah join the Saudi Pro League just yet and said he will talk to him to convince him not to do so. "I will put in a word for him to stay. I want him to stay at Liverpool. But good players will always be linked here because this country and this Pro League want good players and that is the simplicity of it" he said.
