Throughout the current season, Liverpool have faced a series of injuries and poor results that have kept them in a disappointing mid-table position in the Premier League. The Reds are struggling to get out of that uncomfortable position, which could cost them international competition next season.
In that context, the only thing Jürgen Klopp wants is a full squad. Several of his key players were absent through injury and their absence left the team exposed, as well as confirming the importance of the experienced players. Roberto Firmino, who has a hamstring injury, has not played since a friendly against Milan at the start of the season after Qatar 2022. The Brazilian midfielder has not yet recovered and that has raised doubts about his future.

While Klopp has always stressed his importance and how much he wants him in the squad, the striker's contract expires on 30 June. As of January 1, Firmino can sign a contract to play for any team he wants next season and he would already know where to do so.
The interest of huge teams did not take long to arrive. Barcelona, Juventus, Inter Milan and even Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr, with millions behind them, have him on their radar. However, Roger Wittmann, the player's agent, explained to Sky Sports that they are having big talks with Liverpool and are on course to renew that relationship until June 2025, for two more seasons and a salary of £180,000 a week.
