Bundesliga Leipzig's Austrian midfielder Konrad Laimer, 25, underwent syndesmosis surgery and spoke about his injury and his planned return on the programme. The Ösi national player, who underwent surgery a week ago had the following to say about his recovery stage.
"So far everything has gone well, the healing process is starting now. It's always a shame when, as an athlete, you can't do what inspires you, what you enjoy doing every day. But unfortunately it's part of sport, you have to overcome it somehow. I want to get back on the grass as soon as possible. But it will take at least 10 weeks, it will be difficult in the first half of the season. That's why it's important that I take my time now. That everything heals well and that I can strike again in January".

On the start of the season for Leipzig (currently in 12th place), Laimer said: "We just have to find our way again and give our best. The pace until November is crazy, it's only English weeks. The most important thing in football is consistency. If we can achieve that, there's still a good chance this season. But for that we have to start now and pick up points every three or four days."
Premier League club Liverpool were also all over him in the summer. However, interest only came towards the end of the transfer window and therefore it was too late to get serious. Next summer, when Laimer's contract expires and he is on a free transfer, that could definitely become an issue again.
Especially since Laimer says about the Premier League: "In general, I am a football fan. In general, I like to watch the Premier League. I've always been a Liverpool fan. In the end I would have been ready to take a new step. It didn't work out because the go-ahead from Leipzig didn't come. They quickly said: No, that's not possible. On the one hand, that's good because you are an important player. But it's also difficult because there was a lot of discussion, a lot of thought, a lot of reflection.
