This summer has been very complicated for our Liverpool in terms of signings, as so far we have only managed to finalize the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, two midfielders that although they fit perfectly into Jürgen Klopp's plan for the Reds' project, he does not consider that they are enough to cover all the casualties that the squad has had.
However, it seemed that our club's summer was about to take a big turn in our favor as it was reported and confirmed that the Anfield board reached an agreement with Brighton for the signing of Moises Caicedo, for whom they were willing to pay £110 million. However, the Ecuadorian midfielder refused to undergo medicals with the Reds and is now on the verge of joining Chelsea, who will pay £115M for him.
In this way, our club is still unable to finalize its third reinforcement of the summer, so now we would return to the charge for Romeo Lavia, the 19-year-old Belgian midfielder who belongs to Southampton and that before the Caicedo saga, was the biggest target for Klopp. However, it seems that Chelsea are not satisfied with having beaten us in the race for the Ecuadorian as they would now also go for Lavia and would offer a good amount of money to sign him.
According to journalist Fraser Fletcher, Chelsea, besides being focused on finalizing the details of Caicedo's signing, are also in advanced talks with Southampton to sign Lavia for whom they would offer £55 million.
