The World Cup atmosphere is in full swing, with 32 teams competing from next weekend for the chance to win the most important international tournament of all. Some with titles, others with revenge, some more in their first experience, all looking to transcend, being the Netherlands, one of the representatives that Liverpool FC fans will follow this winter.

With our superstar Vigil van Dijk leading the way, the Netherlands are preparing to make their debut against Senegal on Monday 21 November. Ahead of the game, the defender spoke out and declared himself ready for his first career World Cup, all in the wake of The Oranje's failure to qualify for Russia 2018, one of the disappointments of the qualifiers, along with Italy, who for the second World Cup, are not playing in the tournament.

Speaking from Doha, van Dijk told the local press that he regrets that his great friends will not be present at the World Cup, such as Egypt's Mohamed Salah, Senegal's Sadio Mané and Brazil's Roberto Firmino, who was not included in the final list of 23 players published by coach Tite more than a week ago. "Bobby is the best player I've ever played with," said our defender.

The relationship between van Dijk and Firmino was formed over the years and through the games won, experiences gained and titles they both added to the Pool's cause. It is worth mentioning that the Dutchman, who arrived from Southampton at Anfield in January 2018, saw how Bobby was already a benchmark at the club; the Carioca arrived on Merseyside in the summer of 2015 from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

Firmino is the best player

Despite not being in the best position in the Premier League (6th place), the Red's individually can boast of the great moment that van Dijk and Firmino had until this break in the first half of the season, where in the case of the South American he has nine goals in the semester, including the last game against Southampton where he scored. On the other hand, the central defender has played every game, with the exception of the EFL Cup.
