No one is talking about Mohamed Salah, but he must put the Liverpool on his shoulders

Mohamed Salah is Liverpool's natural point of reference up front. The Egyptian player won over the fans with his performances that led to several titles for Liverpool and is positioned as one of the historic scorers of the club, who, together with Jurgen Klopp, have managed to capitalise on a necessary duo.

But right now, the spotlight is elsewhere in the Liverpool squad and we seem to have forgotten that Salah must put the team on his shoulders, he must be that element that stands out in every game and gets the goals he has lacked in the first two rounds of the Premier League.

From his starting position on the wing, he will be expected to drive inside before utilising the spaces created by Firmino. Salah has been Liverpool's star player since arriving from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, scoring a total of 119 Premier League goals, as well as a further 46 assists, in around 15,150 minutes of football. He has averaged a goal every 127 minutes, and an assist every 329 minutes, capturing his tendency to perform as a goalscorer rather than a creator.

Diaz, Nunez and injuries

With Salah potentially becoming a creative source rather than putting the ball in the net on a weekly basis, he will soon become Klopp's first real striker at Liverpool, but the 30-year-old has already given evidence of changes to come, with Darwin Nunez a new striker and Luis Diaz a possible referral in recent weeks.

It is clear that right now we look towards transfers, injuries, Nunez's dismissal or Diaz's goal, but Mohamed Salah must be talked about more, and above all, he must show that game he has shown in recent seasons in charge of Liverpool if they are to close the four-point gap to Manchester City, bearing in mind that the previous championship was won with only a one-point difference.
