After the game against Leicester, the Reds boss is thinking about signing this defender

In the last game of the year at Anfield, Liverpool had a very strange game against Leicester. They didn't start the game at the bottom in the opening minutes but then were fortunate to have two goals scored by Belgium defender Wout Faes, which turned the scoreline around and gave German coach Jürgen Klopp's side greater peace of mind.

The Reds have had constant problems with injuries, especially to central defenders such as Joel Matip who missed several games at the start of the season with an injury problem. Frenchman Ibrahima Konaté was also sidelined for several weeks with a health problem. This has prompted the club to think about signing a central defender.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool have fallen apart this season, and it seems that the departure of Sadio Mané has hit the Reds hard. Meanwhile, another departure that the German manager has confirmed has hit him hard is that of Wijnaldum, who joined Paris Saint-Germain only to end up at Mourinho's Roma.

Since then, the Anfield outfit have been looking at the possibility of bringing in new reinforcements in midfield and attack, as well as a defence in need of players for the future. With Liverpool approaching the end of an era and preparing for what is to come, the January transfer window could be a pivotal one.

Klopp wants Gvardial

Josko Gvardiol: The Leipzig defender is having a great World Cup with Croatia, who have surprised everyone with their unstoppable progress after ousting Brazil, one of the favourites to lift the prestigious World Cup trophy. The 20-year-old Croatian is one of Klopp's big targets to revamp the defence and he could try to secure his signature in January.
