Liverpool have resumed their FA Cup run

Liverpool have resumed their FA Cup run and it was their turn to visit the Falmer Stadium for their fourth round tie against Brighton & Hove Albion. Roberto De Zerbi's side pulled off a major upset in the world's oldest competition and knocked out the Reds.

It took Liverpool 30 minutes to take the lead at the Falmer Stadium. The visitors went on the counter at full speed with Naby Keïta's pass to Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian made a great run down the right flank and slipped the ball into the box for Harvey Elliott. The midfielder struck powerfully at the far post to open the scoring.

Brighton did not let up after the first goal and managed to score the equaliser. Just when it looked like the game was going to end in a draw, Roberto De Zerbi's side struck on the hour mark. The home side had a ball held up in the area and Pervis Estupiñán received the ball almost on the by-line to put in the cross. Japan's Kaoru Mitoma scored to send Brighton through on the hour.

“Trent didn’t get the support"

After the game, coach Jurgen Klopp spoke about the match. While he didn't directly criticise any players, he did hint at his annoyance with some situations. He spoke about Trent Alexader Arnold's performance and compared him with Andy Robertson: "Trent didn't get the support. On the left side Robbo was ok because we helped him".
