It looks like the last few weeks of the transfer window will be very important for our Liverpool, as with a week to go before the Premier League kicks off, Jürgen Klopp believes the squad is not yet complete and is hoping to sign at least one more midfielder in order to fill the gap left by the unexpected departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.
The summer has not been what Liverpool fans had hoped for in terms of signings, despite the fact that it all started very well with the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai in the first weeks of the transfer window. However, after that negotiations with other clubs seem to have stalled and little by little the options have dried up. On top of that, our club has suffered important departures that were not budgeted for.
That is why as of today the priority of Klopp and the Reds board is to sign one or two midfielders and they are also said to be on the lookout for one more defender. The main target is Romeo Lavia, the 19-year-old defensive midfielder from Southampton for whom they have reportedly already made three bids, but the Saints do not seem intent on reducing their £50 million price tag.
Given this, it has been reported that Liverpool will go for another player as an alternative to signing Lavia and that would be Fluminense's Andre Trindade. The 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder is seen by many as Fabinho's natural replacement and although his price would be much lower than Lavia's, it seems that Fluminense do not want to sell him this summer but until the winter market, which is why the Anfield board could return for a target that Klopp has had in his sights for several weeks and whose price would be around €30 million.
According to journalist Christian Falk, our Liverpool are ready to make a move for Ryan Grabenberch, the 21-year-old Dutch midfielder who is to Jürgen Klopp's complete liking and whom they tried to sign a year ago. In addition, it has been reported that Liverpool have had their eye on Gravenberch throughout the summer.
