Money shouldn't change Mohamed Salah, warns journalist

Mohamed Salah is not performing well for Liverpool this season. He has scored two goals and provided two assists so far in the Premier League, but much more is expected of him. After the departure of Senaglian Sadio Mané, he would have to be the new undisputed star for the Reds, but so far he has not shone as expected and that worries everyone at the club.

Souness is concerned that Salah could be falling into the trap of the new contract. The Reds fan favourite was also unable to contribute a goal in his side's 9-0 win over newly-promoted Bournemouth. And when club legend Graeme Souness was asked what had happened to the Egyptian's goalscoring form, the Scot admitted he feared Salah could be affected by his new contract.

And he hopes the 30-year-old does not become another Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil, whose form slipped after signing new big-money deals at Arsenal. "I mentioned Salah at the weekend, and I hope I'm wrong when I say that because hopefully he saw him at the weekend and got angry with me and said I'm going to prove him wrong. I just hope it's not the case with him that he's signed a new contract and he's in his armchair. I say that because think of Ozil and Aubameyang at Arsenal, that's exactly what happened with them and a big contract."
