Liverpool beat Napoli 2-0 on the final day of the UEFA Champions League. In this Group A match, the English side managed to break the Italian club's good run of form. After his club's performance, Jürgen Klopp praised the work of his players:

"Tonight we showed everything. We were able to show very good football and our defence was on another level. You can't allow that at any time. Napoli are a really strong team at the moment. It was expected to be a very difficult game for us, but the boys did very well and that's why it wasn't difficult.

Napoli came into this game unbeaten. In Serie A they accumulated 10 wins and 2 draws with 0 defeats with 32 points. In the Champions League they had 5 wins in all matches against Liverpool, Ajax and Rangers. In this last matchday the English managed to win and thus end the unbeaten streak of the Italians:

"A very difficult game against a very good opponent. We were compact and didn't let Napoli get away comfortably throughout the game. You could see at all times that they were trying to get out. However, you could see how good they are in every situation individually and collectively. We did very well. Napoli and Liverpool qualified from Group A of the UEFA Champions League. In this final group-stage clash, the English side won with goals from Mohamed Salah and Darwin Núñez.

James Milner out injured

Liverpool's injury woes continue as captain James Milner was forced off with a muscle problem against Napoli. His injury adds to those of Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota, as well as Naby Keita who is still out of action. This has Klopp upset and has already prompted the club to change doctors.
