The French star does not tolerate the Brazilian and is seeking his exit from the Paris club

"I didn't ask to leave Paris Saint-Germain in January," declared Kylian Mbappé after Paris Saint-Germain FC's 1-0 win over Olympique de Marseille. The striker denied everything that had been rumoured days ago, about his desire to leave the Parisian club right now, even in January, which is contractually improbable. However, those words did not make much of an impact. Few believed him. And Mbappé then continued his campaign in private, while denying it later in public.

The latter is already old news. Mbappé does not want Neymar at PSG. He doesn't want to see him anymore. He can't go beyond this season, although the reality is that he was promised he wouldn't even be there for the 2022-23 campaign. And since they didn't deliver, he is forced to make "a threat". That's why he is asking the new club to come, he is asking for these conditions in order to be able to sign.

Mbappé is calling for a management model based on rigour and he clearly does not see rigour in Neymar. He does not like the Brazilian's ways. What's more, Neymar's automatic renewal until 2027 went down very badly with Mbappé and his entourage. Therefore, in order to fulfil his contract, it is indispensable and obligatory that Neymar leaves after July 2023. Otherwise Mbappé will start looking at other clubs, with Real Madrid and Liverpool in his sights. "Either he leaves or I leave PSG". Literally.

It is known that PSG wanted to sell Neymar during this July-August 2022 transfer window (and also on other occasions), but they failed. There are no clubs interested in Neymar, as long as they have to pay him what he earns in Paris, around 30 million euros. That's why he stayed. And to top it all off, he started the 2022-23 season in spectacular fashion, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists, one of his best starts in many years.

If Neymar doesn't leave PSG, Mbappé will leave

In the dressing room, the Brazilian has some strong "allies", such as Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos. But the club has already decided to sell him. Spain's El País even published a quote from a source inside the club: "They have been studying for months how to pay Neymar the highest severance package in the history of sport, around 300 million euros". The idea is that he leaves, of course, and that Mbappé's wish prevails.
