Neville spoke to The Overlap Fan where he did not deny the excitement he experienced as a fan at the denouement of last season, when Manchester City and Liverpool were battling for the Premier League title on every matchday, acknowledging that the Champions League final between Real Madrid and the Reds weakened the Anfield side, who were left with no weapons to lift the league.

"I have praised Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp over the last five or six years for the levels they have reached.
