Liverpool continue preparations for their Premier League clash with Manchester United on Monday.

Liverpool will visit Manchester United next Monday 22 August at Old Trafford, in a match of the third round of the Premier League. Although both teams are not at their best, it seems that the Red Devils' crisis is greater than that of the Merseyside side, at least in terms of points. Merseyside, at least in terms of points.

Manchester United have lost their opening two games, most recently 4-0, while Liverpool, despite injuries, have managed two draws against Fulham and Crystal Palace in the opening two games. Jürgen Klopp's side will be confident of a good game, despite the absentees and apparent striker crisis.

Liverpool are looking to win three consecutive away league games against United for the first time in their history, plus this is the first time the two sides have met in the opening three games of a league campaign since 2013-14, when Liverpool won 1-0 at Anfield. This is the first top-flight meeting in which both teams have not won in the Premier League, not including any fixtures in the opening game of the season.

Manchester United have won just one of their last 12 Premier League games against Liverpool and have not won any of their eight since a 2-1 victory in March 2018. In addition, the last time the Red Devils had a longer winless streak in the league against an opponent was between 1983 and 1987 (10 against Everton).
