The bad news keeps on coming at Anfield, and it is starting to cause problems for manager Jürgen Klopp, who is struggling to find a starting XI every matchday. Now he will have two more casualties on the injury list, such is the case of Colombian striker Luis Fernando Diaz Marulanda and English full-back Trent John Alexander-Arnold, who left the pitch in the last game against Arsenal.

In World Cup year, injuries are not looking good for some of the players who could be out of the boat for a possible call-up with their national team to the Qatar 2022 World Cup, or miss an important stretch with the Red's, being important pieces to get back on track in the Premier League, where for now they are in tenth position with ten points.

Speaking after the defeat in London against leaders Arsenal, Klopp said things are not looking good for his two stars, Luis Diaz and Alexander-Arnold, who both left the pitch looking pained and helpless. The former came on for Bobby Firmino at the end of the first half (42"), while the latter left for Joe Gomez at the start of the second half (46").

In the absence of official confirmation from the club, Alexander-Arnold's ankle injury could leave him out of the World Cup, as the 24-year-old had been called up by coach Gareth Southgate for England matches, as well as being an important player with the Red's, as he had played so far in all the matches, scoring two goals; Premier League (Bournemouth) and Champions League (Rangers).

Luis Diaz's injury seems serious

On the other hand, the situation of "Lucho" Diaz is serious, he will undergo scans and checks on the extent of his knee injury. The former FC Porto player was seen on crutches on his way to the club bus. Diaz has scored four goals in the current campaign; three in the Premier League (Crystal Palace & Bournemouth) and one in the Champions League (Napoli).
