One of the first Liverpool players to refer to Luis Diaz's injury was Andrew Robertson, who in an interview with the Liverpool Echo highlighted the blow felt by the team as a result of the player's absence. "Luis is such a happy person, so for him to take this kind of knock in training and then to find out how long he's likely to be out is devastating for him," he said.

He added, "Luis' injury is a big blow for us, but all we can do is try to help him, try to be there for him and help him in any way we can. Because I can imagine he's feeling a bit down about it. Right now, so it's important that we try to lift him up and give him the support he needs, which we will do."

The Colombian's left-back team-mate Kostas Tsimikas also highlighted the support he has been given from the squad to get him back on his feet as quickly as possible. Speaking to The Athletic he said, "It's such bad luck for Luis Diaz and I feel very sad for him. Fortunately, he is very strong mentally and physically. I wish him a speedy recovery and every one of us will be there for him along the way. We will be waiting for him.

Coach Jürgen Klopp said a few days ago at a press conference that, "It's clear that it's a big disappointment for all of us, also for him. He felt something but we wanted to be very cautious (...) Then the news came and it was a real slap in the face".

On the other hand, Pep Lijnders, the club's assistant coach, said that, "about Luis I have to say that we all know the impact he has on the group, it is not easy to cope with his loss because of what he does as a striker for the team, it is sad that this has happened but his character, his smile will make him come back stronger and no doubt that if he comes back stronger it will help us. I hope he can come back soon. He travelled with us to Dubai, now he has a longer injury, he was in all the video conferences with us which is good for the team, but it's a sad time for him."
