Luis Diaz is getting closer and closer to being available for Klopp at Liverpool. The Colombian continues to rehabilitate from the knee injury that has kept him out since 9 October. The team's coach had said that it was best not to ask for a while for the winger, who in these almost two months has evolved quite well and the idea is to have him available in December for friendlies before resuming competitions.

Diaz's absence forced Klopp to change his tactical system and, given the poor start to the season, his absence was all the more noticeable. However, in the last few games before the FIFA break they managed to improve their performance with just 2 defeats in 10 games. Luis has not wasted any time and has even worked in Colombia at the FCF headquarters to recover, all under the supervision of the medical staff of the English team.

Noel Whelan assured that Diaz's return for the month of December will be valued as a new signing. "It will be like a new signing for Jurgen Klopp, who missed him a lot when he was away. Perfect early Christmas present. This is great news. Diaz was in excellent form before his injury and often looked the best player in the team."

The team will travel to the United Arab Emirates for the Dubai Super Cup where they will face Lyon and Milan. The intention is for Diaz to arrive at these matches ready to play again, so that he can get minutes and be ready for what will be the first challenge after the World Cup. The Carabao Cup in which they will face Guardiola's City in the fourth round of the competition on 19 December.

Luis Diaz to be a new signing for Klopp

"I'll be back stronger," the 25-year-old winger had tweeted after learning of the severity of his injury. Liverpool have had a tough time with a number of players out of action, which is why it is important that they take time out of competitive action to recover some of the injured players. Should Diaz fully recover, he would play five games before the end of 2022.
