Liverpool's worst performers against Leeds United

The Reds were dealt a blow when they suffered yet another Premier League defeat at home, where curiously the opposition was another bottom-of-the-table club, Nottingham Forest at the City Ground last week, but now Leeds United became the villains, beating The Pool in the last minute and silencing the entire Anfield Road crowd.

It was a disastrous night for Liverpool's superstars, who were given the worst marks of the weekend, for example Alisson Becker who started the game with a terrible slip for Rodrigo (4') to open the scoring, through to Trent Alexander-Arnold who had another 'average' game, as well as Joe Gomez who improved slightly in the second half after a shaky start.

But who got the worst of it was the 'boss of the defence' Virgil van Dijk, who gave the game away with a weak marking on Crysencio Summerville (89') to seal the game. Closing down the back four, Andy Robertson had a decent game and was the Red's engine in attack, undoubtedly the best player of the night. The midfield was in tears, starting with a dismal performance from Fabinho who is in his worst form since arriving at Anfield.

Harvey Elliott struggled in his area, but the periphery of the game around him overcame him, leaving gaps for the opposition to exploit. Thiago Alcantara returned but is still in need of minutes to get back to his best, as there were periods in this game where he didn't quite communicate with the team, improving after the first half. Bobby Firmino had a recital of passes that sometimes did not find a good destination, recognising his commitment.

Joe Gomez and Fabinho were the worst scorers.

Up front, Darwin Núñez had opportunities in front of Illan Meslier's goal that he was unable to finish, and at times he was desperate not to get the ball, but he still created danger. The opposite was the case for Mo Salah (14') who, with his goal, calmed the waters for a moment and pushed the team to look for a comeback.he second half saw a drop in intensity due to the wear and tear on key plays.
