Liverpool's unbelievable curse that led to defeat to Nottingham Forest

There is a strange curse that is haunting Liverpool and it is the adverse situations that are arising hours before a game starts, for although Jürgen Klopp has become a specialist in changing both his starting eleven and his tactical set-up this season, he now had to improvise just hours before his team took to the field against Nottingham Forest, having to leave out one of his first-choice midfielders and that ended up leading them to defeat at the City Ground.

Although the starting eleven was already a surprise with the number of changes Klopp made from their last game against West Ham United, the surprise was directly in midfield with the absence of Thiago Alcantara, with the Reds boss announcing that his Spanish midfielder was out of the game as he was suffering from a hate infection.

This decision, taken just under seven hours before kick-off, forced Jürgen Klopp to rethink his game plan and adjust his strategies in both defence and attack, fielding in his place youngster Curtis Jones but being directly disadvantaged in the latter area as the Spain international is a man with a lot of attacking clarity if the ball is played mostly in the opposition's midfield.
