It is common knowledge that Liverpool's current priority is to sign midfielders, especially young players who can be part of the long-term project because last season proved that a generational change in the squad was necessary, as the team failed to qualify for the next edition of the Champions League.
Despite this, this summer our team has been a cascade of departures, among which is that of a player who is considered by many as one of the great promises that the club has for a future project, as he has shown to have the talent and quality needed to become a very good player. We are talking about Fabio Carvalho, the Portuguese midfielder who is currently valued at millions of euros.
This summer, Fabio aroused the interest of RB Leipzig who tried to sign him permanently, to which Jürgen Klopp and the Anfield board refused, but they did agree to loan him for a year and also did it in a deal that does not include an option to buy so Carvalho must return to Liverpool next year, although that does not mean that he will stay, as the player himself has revealed that he does not feel that Jürgen Klopp values him at all.
Fabio Carvalho even revealed that contrary to what one might think, Jürgen Klopp did not talk to him before loaning him to RB Leipzig, so the Portuguese's future at Anfield looks uncertain, because for some reason the German coach (who must know something about football) does not take him into account even in a season in which young players are a priority, but it seems that this has not affected Fabio who is already reaping success away from Anfield.
In what was his official match debut with RB Leipzig, Fabio Carvalho was crowned German Supercup champion by defeating the mighty FC Bayern 3-0. The player, who still plays for Liverpool, came on as a substitute in the 78th minute to replace Dani Olmo, who scored a hat-trick.
