After a season in which Liverpool failed to achieve their goal of winning the Champions League and Premier League, the English outfit have undergone a number of changes to their squad and will be hoping to find a starting line-up under Jürgen Klopp to take on the challenges of the 2022-23 campaign.
Injury update on Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alisson and Jota
The German coach's system of play will be maintained, as the system is effective, especially when it allowed them to reach the final of Europe's top championship, as well as second place in the English league. They will continue to play 4-3-3, even with the departure of Sadio Mané.
In goal, there is no reason to doubt that Brazilian Allison Becker will remain in the starting line-up, although he is currently struggling with muscular problems. Their back line will also remain unchanged with Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back, Virgil Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate at centre-back, plus Andy Robertson at left-back.
The midfield will retain the Fabinho-led trident, with Spain's Thiago Alcantara and the experienced Jordan Henderson providing support, both defensively and as playmakers.
The forward line is one of the lines that has undergone changes with the arrival of Darwin Nunez to replace Mané, which could have a notable impact on the way the attack develops. On the left flank, the Colombian Luis Díaz seems certain after his remarkable debut season, while Mohamed Salah will be the main focal point of the attack as a right winger.
Some of the players who could assume starting roles during the season depending on their performances are Konstantinos Tsimikas, Joel Matip and Naby Keita, but it seems early for Klopp to make radical decisions in this regard.
