Liverpool's plan C in case Enzo Fernandez and Bellingham don't arrive Liverpool's plan C in case Enzo Fernandez and Bellingham don't arrive. Liverpool are looking for options to reinforce their midfield in the winter transfer window after a poor run of results that have kept them out of the Premier League title race.

Jürgen Klopp knows they need to revamp their midfield to give them more options if they are to beat Real Madrid in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League. The first targets were Enzo Fernández and Jude Bellingham, but both cases have been substantially complicated. The Argentinian is close to becoming a new Chelsea player, who are willing to pay his termination clause.

Liverpool defender has not ruled out anything yet

The Englishman remains an option, but Real Madrid are favourites to land his services and could end up winning the bidding. Given this scenario, Liverpool have a new name on the agenda to boost the inside area and be able to offer more variants to Jürgen Klopp. According to the British newspaper Telegraph, the Reds have their sights set on Matheus Nunes for this winter transfer window.

They have revived their interest in the Portuguese midfielder, who came close to joining Anfield Road last summer transfer window but lost out to Wolverhampton. Matheus Nunes has performed at a very high level since his arrival from Sporting CP, to the extent that his price tag has risen substantially in recent months.

Klopp thinks about Matheus

Wolves will only let him leave for €60m, bearing in mind they want him to leave in the summer. They would let him leave but in the summer, despite being able to reach an agreement with the club in this period. The deal will not be easy, but his price is much lower than names like Enzo Fernandez and Jude Bellingham.
