Despite Jurgen Klopp having fielded the same tactical set-up and line-up against Arsenal that won a few days ago in the Champions League, the Gunners quickly showed why they are the current leaders of the English competition by finding the net in the first minute of the game, highlighting Liverpool's defensive shortcomings so far this season, as being behind in the first half is no longer a novelty for the Merseyside side.

Apart from the games against Bournemouth and Everton, the Liverpool team has suffered a lot during the first 45 minutes of the game, because no matter if it is home or away, Jurgen Klopp's men have been overwhelmed when playing with the disadvantage on the scoreboard, having to come from behind to rescue a draw or to make up one of the many defeats that today have them very low in the overall table.

Counting the game against Arsenal, the Liverpool team reached 8 games played in the current Premier League campaign, taking in 6 of them a not so pleasant surprise during the actions of the first half to be down on the scoreboard, a situation that has conditioned them in such a way that only against Newcastle is that they could reverse the situation and managed to finish the actions with the score in their favor with that (2-1).

Outside of the English competition, the Reds experienced something similar in their UEFA Champions League debut against Napoli, as in their first away game in Italy, they quickly went behind to a Piotr Zieliński goal after just five minutes. After that match, which they ended up losing 4-1, Klopp's men were not overwhelmed in their next matches against Ajax and Rangers, obtaining two victories that have them as runners-up in their group.

Martinelli's goal left a negative streak for the Reds.

Those failings during the first 45 minutes of play mean that Liverpool do not have in the vast majority of their matches any kind of advantage with which to play the second half, always having to take risks and try to go forward in search of a result that will allow them to score and not fall behind in the overall standings.  Although the Reds in general terms have been a group that has the same statistics as the leaders, they suffer a lot with those early goals from their opponents having to change the game strategy that was planned by the German tactician.
