At the age of 16, his name is already making headlines in Europe. Endrick, the latest jewel in the Brazilian footballing crown, tries to keep out of the rumour mill and insists that his "present" is at Palmeiras, although he has already started to study "Spanish, English and French" with an eye to the future. Called the new one, he is closely followed by Liverpool who want to anticipate other European clubs.

In an interview from Sao Paulo, the striker, the object of desire of powerful European clubs, talks about his objectives, his first months as a professional and his friendship with Vinícius Júnior, and assures that he has no preference between Real Madrid or Liverpool. "Obviously my dream is to play in Europe, but I'm focused here. I'm not looking at the things that are being talked about or which teams are coming or which scouts are arriving. I'm focused on Palmeiras," Endrick said at the Sao Paulo outfit's training centre.

Just a few months after being promoted to the first team and recently crowned champion of the Brazilian league, the young striker exudes ambition, a desire to improve and a strong attachment to his family, especially his "little brother" Noah. "I didn't have a very good childhood and I want to give him a good life so he can have everything he wants. He's like a lucky charm. I look at him and try to do everything for him," confesses Endrick Felipe Moreira, born into a humble family.

The media attention on this teenager from Brasilia has not been seen since the days of Neymar. He has been dazzling at a record-breaking rate from the base of Palmeiras, the club that "opened the doors" for him in 2017 and to whom he will always be grateful. "My present is here at Palmeiras (...) What I want most is to play for Palmeiras," he says. With a contract until 2025 and no possibility of playing in Europe until he turns 18, Endrick has his sights set on helping his team "win titles".

He is already learning English

One of his methods: watching videos of Ronaldo Nazário before every game. "I like to watch them because he was a very good guy who I had the pleasure of talking to three times". He also cultivates his mind. He studies "Spanish, English and French" because, he says, he likes "to learn new things. I was in Madrid for a while with my family and I really liked the language there. It is a very interesting language. And I also went to England and I also liked Liverpool a lot," he says.
