The absence of the Senegalese is evidence of the Anfield offensive

Against rivals from England or other European leagues, Liverpool today are far from delivering their best displays on the pitch, failing miserably in both the Premier League and the Champions League, with the lack of goals being one of their main problems that today neither Darwin Nuñes, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah can solve, with only the participation of the Colombian Luis Díaz standing out.

This lack of attacking punch has been severely criticised by fans of the team at Anfield, as many have pointed out that the departure of Sadio Mané caused the decline that is now palpable in all of Liverpool's competitions, making it clear that the Senegalese international was the one who gave life to a sector that today does not have a substitute of his quality, just as he is doing at Bayern with the departure of Lewandowski to Barcelona.

Liverpool's advantage if they don't play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge

Part of the effectiveness that Mané had in front of goal in his almost 270 games at Anfield was due to the great partnership he had with Mohamed Salah, a player who today cannot find a partner capable of making sense of the large number of insinuations that the Egyptian makes game after game, with Roberto Firmino being the closest to that level as he knows the style of football that the duo had.

Diego Jota has been compared to the Senegalese by former Reds players, with some of them finding similarities that could work if the Portuguese is back to his best. As for Uruguay's Nunez, filling the void left by Sadio seems a long way off, so much so that he has been dubbed Jurgen Klopp's worst signing as Liverpool manager.

Mané's wonderful statistics

After six successful years at Liverpool where he scored 120 goals, Sadio Mané for this season 2022-2023 embarked on a new adventure to the Bundesliga to play for the powerful Bayern Munich, a team to which he arrives with the difficult mission of making forget Robert Lewandowski, Polish player who scored almost 350 goals during 8 seasons as "Die Roten".
