The refereeing error made by the VAR and the referee on the pitch during the match between Liverpool and Tottenham in the Premier League ended up disallowing a legitimate goal to the 'Reds' so their coach Jürgen Klopp launched an unprecedented proposal. An error in the communication between the VAR and the referees in the Liverpool vs Tottenham game disallowed a goal by Liverpool's Luis Diaz that directly impacted the result of the game, as the Reds ended up losing 2-1 to Spurs.

Luis Diaz scored a legitimate goal that was disallowed. After the Premier League's verdict, which acknowledged the VAR error, Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp suggested the game should be replayed: "I think the only result of the Tottenham-Liverpool game should be a replay.

However, the German coach acknowledged that as it is unprecedented it may not happen, but that did not stop him from proposing a replay. Liverpool's defeat to Tottenham left them three points off the pace in England.

Carragher's comment

Klopp's request has generated endless comments on social media and one of those was from Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher who said he does not want a replay of the game, but he would like to see the mistakes corrected so that such issues are not discussed in the future. He also joked about a comment by Gary Neville that mocked the possibility of a replay.
