Romeo Lavia is Liverpool's priority target to reinforce the team

There is no doubt that Jürgen Klopp's main target to be Liverpool's third signing this summer is Southampton's defensive midfielder Romeo Lavia, who at 19 years of age has aroused the interest of the most important team in England who has already made three offers to sign him.

However, negotiations with Southampton have been far from straightforward, as Lavia's side established from the outset that they would not sell their 19-year-old prospect for less than £50 million, a price they arrived at as a result of Manchester City's £40 million buy-back clause on the Belgian, which would be triggered next year. In addition, Manchester City will currently take a percentage on the sale of Lavia, for which the Saints want to guarantee a net profit of £40 million.

Liverpool's board have made three bids, the last one reportedly for £46 million, which like the previous two was immediately rejected by the Saints, who sent a strong and clear message that they will not lower the price they have already set for Lavia by a single pound sterling. However, it seems that Liverpool will not give up on their efforts to make Lavia a new Liverpool player as soon as possible and according to peirodista Dave Ockop, the Reds' board have already launched their fourth bid.

How much will Liverpool pay for Romeo Lavia?

According to various reports, the Liverpool board is desperate to sign Romeo Lavia and the player is also reportedly eager to complete his move to Anfield. In the end, reports indicate that Liverpool will have to give in and pay the £50 million that Southampton are asking for, as the need to reinforce the team's midfield is too great.
