Liverpool's squad and coaching staff will undergo changes next season. Julian Ward, the current manager, has made the decision to leave the Reds at the end of the current season, according to The Times. The manager's departure coincides with FSG's recent intentions to listen to offers for the club, or, in other words, to sell if the price is right.
Ward took over from Michael Edwards this summer when the architect of the current Liverpool decided to leave. Previously a right-hand man, he has been in charge of decisions at the Reds this term. Ward's decision is motivated by a desire to take a break from football. Liverpool do not believe he will accept an offer from another club and will evaluate what is the model for further football operations.

Liverpool will have to look for a new manager. According to the English press, Julian Ward will leave the club in the summer, i.e. at the end of the current season and only one year after taking over as manager. In the winter transfer window (January 2022), a link was already being made with Michael Edwards, who advised on the process to sign Luis Diaz, but it was Ward who was in charge of this operation.
With Edwards as sporting director, a position he took over in 2016, there were major arrivals such as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabinho and Diogo Jota, but with the big signing of Diaz came Ward's time in the role, having been at Liverpool for a decade. "This news comes in a slightly unstable climate at Liverpool, with the team out of Champions League positions and with the possible sale of the club in the air, after Fenway Sports Group has been open to new investors and even a sale," reported Agencia EFE.
The first half of the season was inconsistent for Jürgen Klopp's side. They still managed to reach the last 16 of the Champions League, where they will face Real Madrid, but in the Premier League they are far from the top of the table, sixth with 22 points, 15 behind leaders Arsenal. Manchester City will be the Reds' first opponents after the break for the Qatar 2022 World Cup in the Carabao Cup round of 16, just days before Boxing Day, when Premier League action returns. By then, Klopp hopes to have Diaz, who has been absent since October through injury, available.
