After Liverpool's 6-1 win over Leeds snapped a long winless streak, the happy faces in Jurgen Klopp's squad were everywhere except for one seat on the bench where Harvey Elliot was unhappy not with what his team-mates had done, but rather with the decisions made by his manager.

Just as the fans applauded all the technical decisions made by Jurgen Klopp throughout the 90 minutes of the match, they were also impressed with Jones' incredible performance from midfield, prompting congratulatory posts for the player as well as comparisons with his teammate Elliot, almost universally supporting the belief that Curtis is more complete footballingly than Harvey.

Although the stats may have favoured Jones on this occasion, Elliott's consistency in games this season has been a small saving grace for the squad, causing the midfielder conflict that in this game his manager preferred a team-mate who has far less playing time than him, and even worse when Klopp did not consider him for the team's rotations in the second half.

Elliott could be in for more of these moments next season

If losing his first-team place for one game caused the British midfielder some conflict, this situation could become more constant if the Reds buy reinforcements to play in his position, with Elliott having this first warning that his level must never drop if he is to lose Klopp's confidence in the coming months.
