Liverpool continues to look for its third reinforcement of the summer ahead of next season, in which Jürgen Klopp aims to put behind and reverse the failure of last season after which we were left out of the Champions League. That is why the German tactician's priority is to secure the arrival of Romeo Lavia, whom he considers the ideal midfielder for what the team needs today.
After the unexpected departure of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, our Liverpool has been left without a top level defensive midfielder, because although Thiago and Stefan Bajcetic can play in that position, Jürgen Klopp does not believe that with them two is enough to face the challenge of the next campaign and that is why the Southampton defensive midfielder has become so important for Klopp and the Anfield board.
Signing Romeo Lavia has become such a big issue that the board have already made three offers to Southampton, who established from the outset that they would not let the 19-year-old Belgian leave for less than £50 million. However, the Anfield board have tried offers less than that amount and have been rebuffed. This day they have made their third bid for Lavia, which was £45 million with add-ons included.
Almost immediately after Liverpool's third offer for Romeo Lavia, the Southampton board rejected the £45 million offered by the Reds. All indications are that Liverpool will make a fourth bid and it is expected that they will at last fork out the £50m Southampton are asking for. It has also been reported that Lavia is desperate to complete his move to Liverpool.
