The Reds want a star player to crack the market

Borussia Dortmund once again have a footballing gem that half of Europe is fighting over. After what happened with names like Mario Götze, Robert Lewandowski or the most recent, Erling Braut Haaland; the Germans would have in their hand a great sale to be given in the coming years. However, the situation has taken a 180-degree turn. The Bavarian side were confident that they would renew Youssoufa Moukoko after the World Cup in Qatar, and it was even confirmed that the rumour could be true.

Well, the player's agent has come out publicly to deny any hint of a renewal. Patrick Williams is Moukoko's agent, and in the light of reports that Borussia Dortmund had all but completed a deal for the German, he has denied all claims. "I can confirm that we are not currently closing a deal with Borussia Dortmund to sign a new contract," said Williams.

Furthermore, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, Borussia Dortmund are currently expediting any formalities or processes that would lead to Moukoko renewing his contract with the German side for several years. Otherwise, the chasing clubs would start to press. FC Barcelona: Xavi Hernandez's side are dreaming of signing him. Even more so after Endrick's move to Real Madrid became official. They see in Moukoko the perfect candidate for the future fight between Madrid and Barça for league and international titles.

Liverpool FC: Jurgen Klopp's side are the latest to join the fray. Luis Diaz's injury, which will keep him out for three months, has led the Reds to focus on signing a centre-forward. Chelsea FC: Moukoko has his sights set on a move to Stamford Bridge. Although Liverpool's interest is there, there are only two teams in Moukoko's mind: Barça and Chelsea.

Liverpool in fierce fight for Moukoko

Youssoufa Moukoko has been one of the jewels in Borussia Dortmund's crown since his early days, and now he can leave the Ruhr area without leaving a single euro in the German club's coffers, Barcelona is now a potential destination for the young German attacker to continue his development leading the attack of Xavi Hernandez's team over the next few years, and in the next few days a negotiation between the club and the player could lead to an agreement for his arrival at the Camp Nou as one of the big bombshells for the 2023/2024 season.
