The winter transfer window begins on January 1 and closes at 11:59 on January 31. Formal talks have not yet taken place, but the 21-year-old is on the radar of the Premier League duo after his impressive performances with Ecuador at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Chelsea and Liverpool are also interested in Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie.

Since Caicedo has a contract at the Amex Stadium through 2025, Brighton has no intention of selling the midfielder in January and is not under any pressure to do so, Caicedo started all three of Ecuador's World Cup contests, and he scored in the 2-1 loss to Senegal that prevented them from moving on from Group A.
