Liverpool has always been known for generating its own talent from the club's academy, and some of the biggest stars in the team's history have been formed inside Anfield, such as Steven Gerrard and the most recent example is Trent Alexander-Arnold.

However, there are players who despite spending a lot of time and going through the whole process in the team's youth ranks never manage to consolidate themselves in the first team and end up leaving the club, despite the fact that at some point they were considered great promises. Such is the case of Max Woltman, the 19-year-old English striker who this summer leaves Anfield to join Oxford United in Football League One, where he hopes to consolidate his position and at some point have a chance in the Premier League.

Woltman, who has spent 15 years in Liverpool's academy, had the opportunity to make his first-team debut and play in a UEFA Champions League match. However, it seems that his performance did not quite convince Jürgen Klopp and now his departure from the club has been confirmed, for an undisclosed fee, to Oxford United.

With this, Woltman joins the long list of players who have left Anfield this summer and while it is fair to say that Max was not considered to be a first team player, he was one of the club's top prospects going forward.

Liverpool's departures this summer

Max Woltman is one more of the 20 players who have left the club this summer. Firmino, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Milner, Keita, Carvalho, Henderson, Fabinho, Clarkson, Ramsay, Williams, van den Berg, Bearne, Stewart, Corness, Balagizi, Davies, Lewis, Beck and Arroyo are the players who have left the club. Of these, only five have left the club with a profit.
