The 2023-2024 season is about to get underway as our Liverpool's first Premier League game against Chelsea is just over a week away and all indications are that Jürgen Klopp still wants a couple more reinforcements, although it is looking increasingly complicated that they could arrive and join the club before our league debut takes place.

The positions that Jürgen Klopp wants to reinforce are more than clear, as the German tactician has communicated to the Anfield board that the team needs one or two midfielders and a central defender to better face a very important season for the team, since by not participating in the Champions League, the club has the obligation to return as soon as possible to the most important tournament in the world at club level.

That is why the board is already working to fulfill Klopp's wishes, however it seems complicated that the team can sign the three players requested by the German tactician, because in the case of central defense there are not even strong rumors that give an indication that they are close to signing a player and that is why the Liverpool coach could make use of one of the most promising players of the club and for that he would leave out one of the team's legends.

The youngster who wants the place of a legend

We are talking about Jarell Quansah, the 20-year-old central defender who has had good appearances during Liverpool's preseason and who has impressed Klopp according to several reports. With the possibility of Liverpool not signing any central defender before the end of the transfer window, Jürgen Klopp could make use of Quansah to be the reinforcement in that position so he would become part of the first team and that could mean less minutes for Joel Matip, a player who has won everything with Liverpool, but who is living his last year of contract so Klopp could prioritize giving minutes to Quansah before Matip.
