The word "Liverpool" trended globally as Reds fans suffer London crash

The Premier League match of the week saw Arsenal FC return to the top of the table with 24 points, one ahead of second-placed Manchester City, who a day earlier beat Southampton 4-0 at home to put pressure on the London side, who twice saw Liverpool equalise, but ultimately win from the penalty spot.

The Reds received an early K.O. when, in a dynamic team move, 21-year-old Brazilian striker Gabriel Martinelli fired home to open the scoring and send the Emirates Stadium into a frenzy. This action immediately sparked the anger of the Red's fans who reacted via social media to their team's poor start.

With strong words, a huge number of fans made the word "Liverpool" trend globally, confirming that the power of this giant is immense. Around the world they read messages such as, "You can't start such an important game like that", "It makes me angry to see how they outplay us in the box", "Impossible to aspire to anything playing like that", said cybernauts.

Things got a bit more heated, with some users tweeting. "Fucking stupid Liverpool. The stupidity means they have to work so fucking hard every game to get anything. Absolutely stupid over and over again. Just get half time," said @Knox_Harrington who received empathy from some Red's fans who interacted with him.

Arsenal's dramatic and long-suffering win in Round 10 ended a long period of paternity for the big teams on the Island, where no matter how hard the Gunners tried they simply couldn't beat the Premiership's top four. In Liverpool's case, Mikel Arteta's side had not beaten Klopp's side since 2020 in the last 16 of the EFL Cup.
