Sheffield United midfield sensation Sander Gard Bolin Berge is reportedly playing down recent reports linking him with a move to Premier League giants Liverpool FC, who are entering the winter transfer window after injuries to Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara.

Sander Berger, who is currently away on international duty for the UEFA Nations Legue matches, recently told The Sheffield Star that he has his feet on the ground about all the rumours that he is out of Bramall Lane. "There's nothing negative about clubs of that size like Liverpool being mentioned, but we shouldn't put too much focus on it," he said.

Berger is a key player for his club where he has started all of Sheffield United's league games throughout the calendar year, along with playing 90 minutes in Norway's 2-1 defeat to Slovenia in top spot in League B Group 4 and is likely to play next Tuesday against Serbia.

The Norwegian, who has more than 100,000 followers on social media, also pointed out that these types of stories about him can raise his stock on the market, making him unattractive in the transfer market. "All this can be inflated in the transfer market, and not necessarily right, because if there was real interest from big clubs, something would happen. Not everything on the internet is true," he said.

Sander Berger denies that he will play for Liverpool

Sander Berger came through the youth ranks at Norwegian club Asker in 2015, moving to Norwegian club Vålerenga, who sold him in 2017 to Belgian club Genk, making a major sale in 2020 to England's Sheffield United. Berger currently leads Sheffield United at the top of the Championship table with 23 points from 10 games, in a dream start for "The Blades".
