Premier League action resumes this weekend with the game between the Peacocks and the Reds

Liverpool FC after the Champions League victory, turn the page and focus on the local tournament, where they are in need of points to rebound in the Premier League table, will receive this weekend Leeds United who also needs the victory to get out of the hot zone, and avoid returning to the Championship, where they spent 16 years waiting to return to the big stage in the British Isle.

For this matchday 14 game, the Red's start as favourites, but they know they must not be complacent after their last display, where they clashed at the City Ground with bottom side Nottingham Forest and received the shock of the week, which relegated them to 8th position away from the European places. Jürgen Klopp spoke of The Peacocks with absolute respect, saying they will not make the same mistakes as they did against the Tricky Trees.

The Whites have been in freefall, as since their 3-0 home win over Chelsea last August, which claimed the 'head' of German manager Tomas Tuchel, Leeds have not won in eight subsequent Premier League games (6 defeats and 2 draws), which is the worst current run in the Championship without a win. Not only that, they are among the worst defenders with 17 goals conceded.

On top of this, reports from England say that star striker Luis Sinisterra is a doubt for the game against the Red's, which would further dent Leeds United's chances of picking up points at Anfield. The former Once Caldas has not played since the clash against Leicester City, missing the latest stumble against Fulham FC. The Colombian is joined by Adam Forshaw, Leo Hjede and Stuart Dallas.

'It's going to be difficult'

On the subject, Leeds United player Jack Harrison accepted Liverpool's strength: "You look at the squad and the team they've got. It's going to be difficult. I think you can expect a difficult game against them regardless of their previous result and we know we have to give everything."
Liverpool FC will have the benefit of two home fixtures in a row; the league game against Leeds United and the final Champions League group game against SSC Napoli to open the chaotic month of November where they will only have four more games before the start of the 22nd World Cup in Qatar. The Red's return to action on 26 December for the traditional Boxing Day fixture against Aston Villa.
