The manager singled out the Uruguayan striker after his brilliant day, in which he scored four goals in the pre-season friendly against Leipzig.

Nuñez left doubts in his first two appearances in Liverpool's jersey, but it was in the third one that he broke through and generated even bigger expectations in the fans. Darwin Núñez shone this Thursday with four goals in a pre-season friendly against Leipzig. After his display, coach Jürgen Klopp heaped praise on the Uruguayan and dismissed the critics, especially on social media.

"This generation of players read social media, which is really not smart, but they do. All of a sudden you get in a rush and these kinds of things. That’s the best way obviously to stop all these discussions.” shared Klopp.

Jurgen Klopp's ideas for improvement in Austria

Liverpool have used Roberto Firmino as 'False 9' striker during their largely successful time under Jurgen Klopp, the German manager has now addressed how Darwin Nunez differs, adding "He’s a different striker to what we have or what we had, but he’s a really good one."

The 55-year-old tactician, on the other hand, appreciated Mohamed Salah's generosity in giving the penalty to Nunez, who made no mistake and thus scored his first goal of the day.

"'Mo' gives the penalty to Darwin and Darwin opens Pandora's Box. That is, of course, a perfect night for him," shared the German manager, after the engagement at the Red Bull Arena, which ended with a resounding 5-0 in favor of the ‘Reds'.
