A mid-season World Cup is a nightmare for club managers worried about injuries, but Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp said his players will be in constant contact during the tournament, updating him on any physical problems. Seven Liverpool players have been called up by various national teams, while the rest of the squad will be in training camp in Dubai during the World Cup.

Liverpool's campaign resumes on December 20 with a League Cup last-16 tie away to Manchester City and while Klopp said he has "no idea" about the team he will pick for the clash, the messages exchanged with his players will certainly help. "We have seven at the World Cup. They are very important players. We have a clear rule, as with international matches: the guys have to text me immediately if there is a problem after a game," Klopp told reporters.

In this sense, the German coach assured that the stadium workers carried out their work in extreme conditions and that nobody has done anything to prevent it. "I've been thinking: 'oh, wow, it's difficult to build stadiums in Qatar because you have to do it in the summer in 50 degrees or whatever'. That's not good for a person, to be in the sun doing physical work. It's impossible, to be honest. But nobody has thought about those workers. There have been many opportunities to denounce it since the World Cup concession. Two and three years to say: "By the way, the process is not right". But a lot of people have made money for the wrong reasons," Klopp explained in a press conference that went viral on social media.
