In recent days our Liverpool has suffered two low blows in terms of transfers. On the one hand we were rejected after offering a record transfer fee to sign Moises Caicedo, who decided to wait for an offer from Chelsea and finally joined them. A day later the same thing happened with Romeo Lavia, who preferred to be a substitute with the Blues rather than come to Anfield.
These two failed signings have left our club in a very bad position for the remaining two weeks before the European transfer window closes, because on the one hand there are fewer and fewer players to sign and on the other hand, the board has shown the other clubs that they do have a lot of money so it is very likely that we will end up overpaying to get the signings that Jürgen Klopp considers best for the team.
However, that is a consequence of poor transfer planning this summer and also poor negotiation techniques during the Caicedo-Lavia fiasco. That is why, knowing this, Klopp would already have in mind the two new priorities for this transfer market, two players that could help the team to compete for the Premier League title, because if the opening game of this season against Chelsea taught us something, it is that the team needs that pair of reinforcements in the midfield.
According to journalist François Plateau, Liverpool have only made contact with the representatives of two players in the last 24 hours: Fluminense's André and Nice's Khéphren Thuram. Both players have previously been linked with a possible move to the club and could now materialize, as Liverpool have the money to sign them both.
