One of the postcards from the great match between Liverpool and Manchester City had Jürgen Klopp in the spotlight. In the final stages of the match, the German manager was annoyed by a hard foul on Mo Salah and complained furiously. Unfortunately for him, the referee did not tolerate this reaction and decided to send him off.
After the match, videos were released of the tense moments between the coaches, Jürgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, each taking their own side in the face of the referee's decisions. In the 86th minute, when the game was already in the Reds' favour, the German was sent off for an angry complaint about a foul on Salah. The linesman reported his conduct to the referee who, without a word to Klopp, gave him the red card and sent him to the showers.

Liverpool will face a fierce battle to land a Brazilian star to be their 'new Haaland'
Liverpool had to celebrate without their manager on the pitch, but he didn't care, as what he needed was for his team to reverse their results crisis and come out on top with a victory that would be a turning point for the second half of the season. In a press conference before the game, Jurgen came out in defence of his players and reminded them of the differences between the two teams, with Liverpool's squad being very competitive, even if they don't have the same investment as City's.
"You have the best team in the world and you put in the best striker on the market (for Haaland). It doesn't matter what it costs. I know City won't like it. Nobody will like it," he said, knowing at the outset the wave of comments that would come against him. What the former Dortmund man did not expect was that his comments would be taken in the corridors of the Etihad Stadium as an offence against the Middle Eastern investors, who are now a key part of teams such as Manchester City, Paris Saint Germain and Newcastle United.
While the charge against him for alleged xenophobia did not proceed, the Liverpool manager must pay £30,000 for the sending off he received after criticising referee Anthony Taylor and the linesman, which resulted in him ending the match in the dressing room after being shown the red card. This amount is undoubtedly one of the highest ever paid for this type of sanction.
