The Colombian felt a new discomfort in his knee and left Liverpool's pre-season training camp

Luis Diaz left Liverpool's training camp in Dubai, in the last hours, after he suffered an alleged "setback" in the recovery of a knee injury that has kept him out of activity since October. This was reported by the English media 'The Times', which assures that the player is already away from his teammates. According to this information, Diaz is traveling to England to be checked again by Liverpool's medical staff.

"It is understood that the Colombia international complained of discomfort and will now undergo further assessments to determine the extent of the knock. His participation in Liverpool's festive program is now in doubt," reports 'The Times'. Although the English team never reported the precise diagnosis of Diaz's injury, it was learned that 'Lucho' is suffering from a tear/sprain, possibly grade II, of the medial collateral ligament (MCL).

This, apparently, after the African Thomas Partey's knee impacted the middle area of Diaz's joint. After beginning his recovery in England, Diaz traveled to Colombia to continue his recovery process in the company of his family. A week ago, he rejoined the Liverpool squad. His return to the field was scheduled for December 26, on the occasion of the game against Aston Villa. In fact, it was said that he could play before that date. However, now there is no clarity about his return to the field.

Luis Diaz was recovering very well from his knee injury with Liverpool, which has kept him out of the field for several weeks, but when everything seemed to be perfect for his return, a new discomfort appeared. Coach Jurgen Klopp confirmed that 'Lucho' had to leave the team's training sessions, which were being held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to travel to England and undergo medical tests, due to the fact that he again had discomfort in his knee.

Luis Díaz felt something

"What is not right is that we have to see Lucho. He felt something and we need further evaluation there, but apart from that, everyone looks very, very good," Klopp said. Now the wait will be on to find out the severity of the knee problem and how long Lucho will have to wait before he can play for the English club again.
