There are still no reinforcements at Liverpool and time is a factor that plays against them, so Jürgen Klopp is still looking for the right variants for his team to find the desired stability, and although the first game was not played badly, it is evident the need for some reinforcements, however with nothing formal for the moment, Klopp has to keep looking among his current squad.

The first surprises for Liverpool came in the first league line-up, and although Diogo Jota was doing very well in pre-season Klopp decided to give him the opportunity to start the game as a starter and the Portuguese did well but no doubt Jürgen will continue to look for the variants that work best for him and now he could start the next game with Darwin Núñez as a centre forward.

Another player who did very well during pre-season was Cody Gakpo, who has played in a different position to what he usually did last season and has been a good change but this could also be ratified, and perhaps he could return to play in the starting line-up but now he could return to his natural position accompanying Darwin Núñez and with this he could try a different midfielder with a more defensive profile.

Klopp's variations for the next game

In the first game against Chelsea the team suffered at times in the lower area of the pitch, showing the shortcomings of the squad, so Klopp will be improvising some positions to find someone who can give balance in midfield, although Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai played a great game helping to recover balls and distribute play, however defending limits their great potential in attack so Klopp will have to look for the variant that can help in more defensive work.
