The Football Association (FA) is not taking its finger out of the wound following the events that took place on matchday 11 (16 October) of the 22/23 Premiership, where Liverpool beat Manchester City with a goal from Mo Salah in a thrilling match that culminated in the expulsion of German manager Jürgen Klopp for protesting with officials and the Independent Regulatory Commission, which punished him with a financial fine that could increase, following an appeal by the FA.
The statement issued a few days ago by the Independent Regulatory Commission reads that Klopp violated one of the fundamental rules during the game, hence the severe punishment on him. "The Independent Regulatory Commission fined Jurgen Klopp £30,000 for breaching FA Rule E3 during Liverpool FC's Premier League match on Sunday 16 October 2022 against Manchester City FC."

But it was only last Friday that the FA decided to appeal the punishment, and says it will go all the way to the final instance to ensure Klopp receives a more severe punishment and is left in place for future interventions by the German, or other managers who decide to do the same. "The FA can confirm that it is appealing the Commission's sanction involving Jürgen Klopp after reviewing its written reasons," the statement read.
Klopp knows his big mouth has landed him in trouble throughout his career, as our head coach is a straight-talking, straight-talking man who does not mince his words, but this has often gone beyond the rules and behaviours of the Premier League disciplinary handbook, which has gone over the German's head in recent months. So far there has been no official stance from the manager, nor from the club.
Despite the imbroglio, Klopp will be able to take the Red's place on the bench in the next EPL fixture when they travel to London this weekend to take on Tottenham Hotspur in round 15 of the league. It's an evenly matched fixture ahead of the game, as the points difference between the two sides is 10 points, leaving Spurs in the Champions League places and the Red's in ninth.
