A change of agent does not always mean that there is an interest in changing teams. The most recent example of this is Ismaël Bennacer, a structural part of Pioli's AC Milan. The Algerian midfielder has a contract until June 2024 and for the Rossoneri club, who paid around €15 million to Empoli in 2019, he has become a key player for the present and the future.
Bennacer has recently decided to break off his relationship with Sissoko. He has entrusted the management of his contracts to Enzo, Mino Raiola's cousin, who works in the representation agency run by Rafaela Pimenta. In recent weeks there have been positive meetings between the player's new entourage and AC Milan, in which the groundwork was laid for a contract renewal, but nothing has been signed so far.
Klopp carelessly shows which team he will support at the World Cup final
Klopp's reunion with Origi and the player's decision to return to Liverpool
The news, which we exclusively reported, is that in a couple of weeks, at the latest by the end of this year, Liverpool are planning to meet with Bennacer's entourage to explain the project in detail. Klopp's side want to tie him down for the next few years. At Anfield they want to sign between two and three midfielders and one of the candidates is Bennacer.
But we insist on one premise: as of today, the closest solution is a renewal of Bennacer's contract with AC Milan. It has yet to be finalised, with the final offer suitable for all parties. The feelings, however, are positive. The case of - his teammate - Kalulu already showed: changing people does not always rhyme with changing team.
Liverpool are looking to strengthen after a mediocre start to the Premier League. Only two wins for the Reds, which puts them ninth in the table, 11 points behind first-placed Arsenal. The midfield is proving to be a headache for Jurgen Klopp. His usual trident of Fabinho, Thiago and Henderson is leaving something to be desired and the substitutes are not responding at the moment. That is why Klopp has already asked to work on the signing of Ismael Bennacer.
