Atletico Madrid's midweek failure in Porto, Portugal, where they failed to qualify for the UEFA Europa League and finished bottom of Group B with five points, has prompted the club's board to sell key players in order to prepare for next season and foresee a possible financial meltdown.
Reports from Spain reveal that Atleti have put four world-class players in the winter transfer window, with at least two of them expected to be sold to balance their finances. The list, which is already being closely watched by the world's biggest clubs, including Liverpool FC, is headed by 22-year-old Portuguese striker Joao Felix, who has publicly declared he is not comfortable under Cholo Simeone.

Klopp will no longer beg Mbappé, has 100 million ready to sign this star to be champions
The Reds know they have an obligation to strengthen the team to rebound in the fight for European places in the table, while they have qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League and remain alive in the FA Cup and EFL Cup. That is why the fans are calling on head coach Jürgen Klopp to go for one or two of the Spanish capital's top players, to create internal competition and boost the team's potential.
The three world stars who complete Simeone's list are 28-year-old Argentinian Rodrigo de Paul, 26-year-old Frenchman Thomas Lemar and 29-year-old Belgian Yannick Carrasco, who are attractive assets for the Manzanares club because of their age and footballing status. Atletico expect to receive at least 150 to 200 million for the sale of these players who, according to insiders, 'Cholo' has already said goodbye to them.
It is well known that Klopp has an open chequebook to buy some of these stars, where the fans through social networks are leaning towards the Portuguese international Joao Felix, who they believe would be good for The Pool, for his age and quality, which he will demonstrate at the World Cup in Qatar, as well as his other two teammates Carrasco and De Paul, who are immovable from their national teams.
