Liverpool are still looking to strengthen their squad for the 2023/2024 season and are close to reaching a deal with Bayern Munich for the services of Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch. The 21-year-old arrived at the Allianz Arena a year ago but his performances have been far from what was expected, not getting much playing time under Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel, something that does not look set to change for the 2023/2024 season that is about to begin.
This has sparked all kinds of rumours about his departure during this transfer window, which is where Liverpool come into the picture, and it seems that negotiations are at an advanced stage to make another big move after the signings of players such as Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
The German manager is aware of the need to restructure his midfield after the departures of Milner, Henderson and Fabinho, which is why Gravenberch is one of the major reinforcements that Liverpool are looking for for 2023/2024, when the objective will be to return to the fight for the domestic title, being somewhat more accessible with signings such as the Dutch midfielder, who could have the playing time in the Premier League that he has not been able to enjoy in the Premier League for the last five years.
A few hours before Liverpool's Premier League opener against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, the Reds' negotiations for Belgian midfielder Romeo Lavia seem to be at a standstill as Southampton are not budging on their demands and want more than 50 million for him, something that has already tired Klopp and that is why he is looking for Gravenberch's option.
